Who am I?
I am Wendy Thomas. I have served the Greater Memphis Area for 30 years in a variety of ways including childcare, pet sitting, house sitting, residential cleaning and organizing, elderly care, grocery shopping, meal prep, and nutritional advising. Finally, two years ago I pursued my great passion for natural health and earned a certification as a Health and Wellness Coach and a Master Nutrition and Health Consultant. Researching nutrition and practicing lifestyle wellness has been both a hobby and a life goal for the last 2 decades. While spending years experimenting with many diets, workout routines and daily habits to establish what works best for my own brain and body, I developed a keen sense for what is popular and trendy versus what actually works and how the body thrives. This has prompted me to promote a tailored approach for my clients that best addresses their unique design, individual needs and circumstances. During the years that I worked with people one on one, I earned their trust and developed a deep love and compassion for wanting to help people look and feel their best!
Why did I become a coach?
Aging and dying are an unfortunate and inevitable part of our current lives; however, although you have inherited certain genetics at birth, epigenetics, or lifestyle factors have scientifically been shown to have far greater importance on how you age and whether or not genetics will be triggered that promote imbalances in the body. I have painfully watched the health of family members and friends rapidly decline that could have been avoided with simple, consistent lifestyle changes if the knowledge of such things had been communicated to them. Many trusted medical health professionals have failed to provide this knowledge. Drugs, treatment and surgery are profitable, so these things continue to be promoted as the only solution to health problems. These methods rarely, if ever, address the underlying problem. Imbalances in the body create a domino effect. Lifestyle Wellness addresses the underlying problem. Once the culprit is removed, the body’s built-in healing mechanisms can get to work and you can realize your true self! Wellness as a lifestyle keeps you in control!
